Iden
General Information
On the Iden radios, * # puts the radio into programming mode. If the software features are turned on, then you can program (set up radio) from here.
You can also look for Iden info at http://www.mot.com/iden or at http://www.nextel.com.
i280,i370,i470,i390,i600,r300,r370,r470,FMr470,i1000,i1000+, i500+,L3000,L3000E radios all use RSS part number RVN4122. For models m100,m370,m470,LM100,LM2000,c370,c470 you need RVN4122.
The IMEI NUMBER is the radios personal ID, # 44 change service key (in programming mode *#)
is like a Securenet key. WARNING: If you have one in service,
be careful if you change the key, the system no longer knows the key, so your radio
will not work.
Iden 370
This should get you into programming mode on the i370:
If you did it fast enough, you will see "sqe/carrier.........exit and trace". SQE stands for "Signal Quality Estimate" and gives a relative value of network signal strength measured as C/I+N (calculated from the RSSI).
Use the left and right arrows to scroll through other menus. You have only
1.5 seconds to get into the program mode...you will have to PRACTICE to get
fast enough.
Iden 1000
To enter Debug Mode (no more than 1 sec. between key press) #, *, Menu, right Scroll key. You are in Debug Mode.
You can go into Trace Mode & back to Debug Mode with the option key
under Trace.
Factory Test Mode: Volume Down, Menu 3x, left Scroll, Menu 2x, left Scroll, you should
be there.
Quick signal test on any Model - Phone Mode,1, 2, 3, Send and you will hear music (usually a local radio station) or "You are not authorized to use this feature, call this number bla bla bla".
Nextel Phones
To Add New Member ID's to Nextel i370, i390 & i600
- On your unit's keypad, press * then # then 21 (*#21). Your display will read "Radio ID List
PGM".
- Press the OK option Key located on the bottom right of your display screen "Add New Entry"
will display on the screen.
- Press the OK option key. "Enter ID" will be displayed.
- Enter the Member ID number which has been provided to you by your Nextel rep or found on your
Talk Group Matrix (TGM).
- To spell out the User name or alias, use the keypad on your handset and press the number that
corresponds to the letter in the users name. To advance the cursor after each letter, depress the RIGHT directional arrow.
Example: To spell BOB
- Press 2 twice (A, B)
- Press right arrow >
- Press 6 three times (M, N, O)
- Press right arrow >
- Press 2 twice (A, B)
- After completing a user's name, press the STORE option key.
- The screen will now display the User name as stored. The screen will return to the "Add New Entry" prompt where you can continue to add entries.
- To exit programming, press the EXIT key 2 times.
To Edit Member ID's on the i370, i390, or i600
- On your unit's keypad press * then # then 21 (*#21). Your display should read, "Radio ID List PGM.
- Press the OK option key located on the bottom right of your display screen. "Add New Entry" will display on the screen. Press the right > arrow key. "Edit Entry" will display on the screen.
- Press the OK option key located at the bottom right of your display screen. Your screen will display the members of your fleet.
- Press the right > arrow key until you find the name you want to edit. Press OK. Your screen will display "Edit ID" Only change an ID # if you have been instructed to do so by your Nextel rep. Otherwise, press STORE.
- To change a name/alias by spelling, follow number 5 in To Add A User.
To Erase Member ID's on the Nextel i370, i390, & i600
- On your unit's keypad, press * then # then 21. Your display will read "Radio ID List PGM."
- Press the OK option key located to the bottom right of the display screen. "Add New Entry" will appear. Press the right arrow key > 2 times. "Erase Entry" will appear. Press the OK option key.
- Use the right > arrow key until you find the name you want to ERASE. Press the OK key.
- The system will ask you if you are sure you want to ERASE. Choose NO or YES.
Cellular Phone Numbers
To ADD, EDIT, OR ERASE Phone numbers on the i370, i390, or i600, use * # 20, and follow the same steps mentioned above.
Adding Phone #'s & Member ID's to the Nextel i1000
- Press * then # then keys 2, 6.
- Press the OK option key.
- Give the unit one to two seconds to display available phone & ID spaces.
- Type in the name of the person that you want to add. See step 5 of "To Add New Member ID's" in the
previous section.
- Then press the STORE option key.
- Enter the phone # of the person you want to add (If you do not have a phone number or do not wish
to place one in your unit, press the SKIP option key.
- Then inter the private ID # (two-way) number for the user. You can get this from the Nextel rep or
the Talk Group Matrix (TGM).
- *Note: If you are entering just a phone number for a
person that is not on the Nextel fleet (e.g. family) you can choose the SKIP option key under "Enter
Private ID #".

Follow the same directions for editing and erasing Member ID's for the Nextel i370, i390 & i600.
