Southeastern Emergency Digital Association Networks
Southeastern Emergency Digital Association Networks [SEDAN] is supported by concerned System Node Operator’s (SNO) who freely dedicate time, money, and effort to build this network of nodes, ready to respond to any emergency within the eastern United States. There are no BBS, DX spotters, or forwarding enabled on the SEDAN as agreed to within States where the SEDAN is coordinated. Each SEDAN SNO offers this service without support from any other source. SEDAN's goals are to help save lives & protect property. It is our sincere wish that you too will support these efforts.

; Expansion of SEDAN coverage continues at a brisk pace throughout the southeast with over 23 new SEDANodes added to the Network in the first six months of this year! SEDAN coverage now extends from our nation’s capitol to mid-Florida, and points west as far as the AL/MS line. Before the end of September it will be possible to QSO with stations as far west as the Mississippi River, and to the south, coverage will extend to the tip of Florida as Miami comes on-line.
Upgrades; 28 existing SEDANodes have now been upgraded with powerful GE DELTA S/SX radios running 120 + watts, many with 20db GasFET preamps. The enhanced capabilities of these rugged commercial-grade radios will help to insure reliable continuity under harsh emergency conditions.
More than eighty-five percent of all SEDANodes are equipped with emergency power and/or battery-banks that will carry the systems up to seven (7) days.
Local; NOW—three ways off the coast on SEDAN! Our own local SEDANode at MACO (145.77) was recently upgraded to the GE DELTA S/SX w/20 db GasFET preamp, and it’s "blowin’ smoke" all the way to Florence, SC (FSC). There are now three ways to access the SEDAN from MACO: MBSC (Myrtle Beach, SC), FSC (Florence, SC), or direct to WNC (Wadesboro, NC).
For the newcomer to Packet, as well as the seasoned Packeteer—welcome to the delights of long-haul keyboard QSO’s only dreamed about in years past. It’s all happening NOW on the SEDAN!
