Most components
shown on this page are employed in many amateur (HAM) radio applications and
interfaces.
The most popular of these interfaces are similar in design and
operation.
They are: HF digital modes such as PSK31, SSTV (analog), RTTY, CW
and Packet.
AMPLIFIED SPEAKER Special Purchase, Top Quality, Brand Name !
It's a long awaited addition
to the HAM shack or the "hand-held" mobile operator. This amplified
speaker delivers 8 watts of audio. I use them in my work-stations as
audio signal tracers. Hook-up is simple; Connect the Orange
wire (with 2 amp fuse holder already inline) to 12 volts DC. Black lead to
ground. The other pair of wires go to low level audio (150 to 200 mV).
Complete with a durable mounting bracket, and hardware, a red Power-ON LED
indicator and volume control. Size is approximately 6"w X 4"h Price = $12.00 |

Single Pole, Double Throw, switch. |
Eight
switch, "DIP" Eight switches in a row... 8 switch Dual Inline Package. |
This Push-ON, and Push again for OFF, Double
Pole, Double Throw Switch is sometimes used as a ''manual'' means of
switching between PSK31 transmit and receive. |
These Push-ON, and Push again for OFF, Double
Pole, Double Throw mini-switches provide an ideal way to manually switch
between PSK31 transmit and receive, or between microphone and SSTV I/O. |
This is the same type, 16 position HEXidecimal
switch I use as a channel selector on the 16 and 32 channel RANGR and DELTA
radio mods. Arrow-point slot enables channel selection using a small screw
driver. Switch detent positions are labeled 0 through 9 and A through F, for
a total of 16 positions. The truth table is ''REAL'' not
''Complimentary.'' |

600 ohm to 600 ohm, 1:1 turns ratio audio coupling transformer. Used in most PSK31 transceiver
to sound-card interfaces to isolate the sound card and HF transceiver from
RF feedback. Use two of these to isolate both the sound card LINE IN
and LINE OUT from the transceiver accessory or data port. Primary is
identified on transformer. Transformer measures approximately one half inch
by one half inch. Leads are 1/2 inch long. |
1000 (1k) ohm to 8 ohm, audio transformer. Used in PSK31 transceiver to sound-card
interfaces to isolate the sound card and HF transceiver from RF feedback.
This 1K to 8 ohm transformer is used when external speaker audio is coupled
to the sound card LINE IN.
Primary (1000 ohm) and secondary (8 ohm) are identified on transformer.
Transformer measures approximately one half inch by one half inch. Leads are
1/2 inch long. |
The audio transformers shown at left, have center-taps on both the primary and secondary windings. The center-tap may be used, or left open (user option). |
Used in PSK31 transceiver to sound-card
interface, this shielded, twin cable has two, 3.5mm stereo connectors on one
end. When using with PSK31, SSTV, RTTY, and Packet Sound card interfaces,
only the "tip" of each connector is used; The "ring" is not used. NOTE that
a large ferrite core is molded into the line near the sound card end of the
cable. This is another means of preventing noise and RF feedback between the
transceiver and the PC sound card. Twin cable is 48 inches (4 ft) long.

3-1/4" x 3" x 1" project enclosure. This project box/enclosure provides
ample space for small projects. The box uses ''friction-fit'' action to keep
the completed project securely closed. Once pressed together, the box
assumes a tight enclosure. Works great for the ISO-KIT PSK31 interfaces and
other related projects. |
This case is made of durable plastic and is the same enclosure I use to
house my personal PSK31 and SSTV ISO-KIT interface projects. When
completed, the 2" x 2" circuit board, PSK31 interface fits easily into this
project box. All sides and surfaces are smooth and the ''Live-Hinge'' lid
has an easy open internal snap-lock. The snap-lock allows easy access to set
internal pots and/or controls. Made In the USA, exclusively for |

UM-9401/MA-47266 PIN Diode, used in VHF & UHF transceiver Tx/Rx switching
circuits. $1.00 Each Order No. 9401 |
This transistor is used in hundreds of HAM Radio
projects and applications, including some PSK31 circuits to activate
transceiver PTT. |
This 2N3053 will add buffer strength to the
PTT circuit to handle heavy T/R relay current loads.

2N3904 NPN Transistor with short, formed leads for Printed Circuit Board installation. $0.50 each or 3/$1.00 |
This transistor is used in some PSK31 circuits
to activate transceiver PTT. Control of the PTT action is via software.
The same PTT feature is activated in SSTV/sound card software. |
This transistor is used in many
12 Volt DC power supplies that are used in Amateur Radio stations. 12 VDC
supplies that are rated at 3 to 7 amperes usually use only one. Supplies
that are rated at 10 to 20 amperes usually use two. Power supplies that are
25 to 30 amperes usually have four of these power regulator transistors
attached to a large heat-sink. |
The 2N7000 MosFET N Channel transistor is often
used in many SSTV and PSK31 interface applications. |

Special applications ''NON-Polarized'' 2.2 ufd caps used
primarily as audio coupling capacitor in the receive and transmit (audio)
AFSK lines between the TNC and radio. A must when modifying radios for
9600 bauds.. |
Increase coupling, crank more 9k6 data with these
4.7 ufd capacitors. They are ''NON-polarized'' and are used in the
transmit and receive audio lines in many commercial radio modifications for
9600 bauds and TNC to radio audio I/O paths. |
These two connectors are identical, 8 pin plug and
jack. This is a good utility connector for many application. |
