  1.   PCees and compatibles with DB25P serial comports
    Definitions in the RS232 signal table reflect pin connections for both DB9 and DB25, EIA Standard RS232''C'' signals. The PC is considered the ''Data Terminal Equipment'' (DTE), while a TNC or MoDem is identified as ''Data Communications Equipment'' (DCE).

  2.   PCees and compatibles with DB9P serial comports
    Arrows indicate the direction of RS232C data/signal flow between the PC (DTE) and attached serial device (DCE).

  3.   9 PIN serial port to 25 PIN serial adapter.
    This adapter will interface the late model PCees (DTE) with DB9P serial ports to data communications equipment comports (DCE).

  4.   DB25S, Parallel or commonly known as the (LPT) printer port of the PC and compatible.
    The mating connector and cable is a DB25P, and is termated at the printer end with the Centronics male connector. CLICK HERE for a view facing the printer connector end of the ccable.

  5.   Universal Serial Bus (USB).
    The mating connector and cable is also shown in this illustration. The ''USB'' port was a joint venture development by Compaq, Digital Equipment Corp, IBM PC Co., Intel, Microsoft, NEC and Northern Telecom..

  6.   The ''Centronics'' end of the printer or parallel port cable.
    The mating connector at the PC is a DB25P, the connector shown in this drawing is on the printer. This connector is called a ''Centronics'' 36 pin, female printer port.

  7.   DB9S to DB25S, NULL-MoDem cable.
    This cable may be used between computers with different comports (DB9P and/or DB25P), or other DTE to DTE devices with serial DB9P and DB25P comports.

  8.   DB9S to DB9S, NULL-MoDem cable.
    This cable may be used between computers with same type comports (DB9P to DB9P), or other DTE to DTE devices with serial DB9P and DB9P comports.

  9.   Macintosh 512 KE Serial port.. and early Macintosh
    Mac 512KE and early model with DB9S (female) to DB9P, serial equipment or mouse cable.

  10.   DB15S PC and Compatible ''GamePort.''
    Some devices use the game port for other data I/O purposes. The Joy-Stick cable end is a DB15P (male) connector.

  11.   DB9P ATARI ''GamePort.''
    Some devices (including TNCees) sometime use the ATARI game port as a data I/O port. The Joy-Stick cable end is a DB9S (female) connector.

  12.   PC Keyboard, 5 Pin DIN (female) port.
    I've included a three dimensional view of the 5 pin DIN (male) connector at the end of the keyboard I/O cable.

  13.   PS/2,six (6) pin Mini-DIN keyboard port.
    This is the connector type now employed on late model PC keyboard I/O ports. The 6 pin Mini-DIN is a connector resulting from an ISO-9000 agreement.

  14.   This adapter will enable you to use a keyboard with a 6 pin Mini-DIN connector to a computer with a 5 pin DIN connector.
    Most late model keyboards use the PS/2, six (6) pin Mini-DIN connector. This adapter mates the 6 pin Mini-DIN to the older 5 pin DIN keyboard port.

  15.   This adapter will enable you to use a keyboard with a 5 pin DIN connector to a computer with a 6 pin Mini-DIN connector.
    This adapter mates the 5 pin DIN to the late model 6 pin Mini-DIN computer keyboard port.

  16.   PS/2 to Serial Mouse Adapter.
    This adapter will enable you to use a mouse with a 6 pin Mini-DIN (PS/2) connector to a computer with a 9 pin DB9P Serial connector.

  17.   Serial to PS/2 Mouse Adapter
    This adapter will enable the use of a mouse with a 9 pin DB9P Serial connector to a computer with a 6 pin Mini-DIN (PS/2) connector.

  18.   LapLink Centronics Parallel port adapter.
    This adapter enables the use a standard printer (Centronics connector), as an interface for ''LapLink'' between computers.

  19.   The PC VGA high-density, 15 pin Video Card I/O .
    Don't confuse this ''High-Density'' D-SUB, 15 pin connector with the standard DB15P/S.
