RASCAL/MIC Switch for transceivers without an accessory jack. EZ switch'n between MIC and RASCAL, Just Flip the switch. It's great when operating SSTV, and modes requiring both voice and digital interaction. The 5 pin DIN at "A" plugs into the RASCAL I/O jack, the Screw-On connector at "B" connects to the radio mic jack. The 3.5mm (1/8") plug at "D" plugs into the (Ext Spkr) "Y" connector (included), and the Radio Microphone connects to the MIC jack at "C". Overall length is nine (9') feet.

So you bought one of those (brand X) interfaces that don't isolate the sound card receive audio (input/ Line IN).
This ISOL8R will provide the isolation and help prevent HUM, they forgot to include.

The 5DMX cable is 6 feet long, the 5 pin (male) DIN and 3.5mm external speaker plug are already attached and wired to the 5 pin DIN. All you add is the mating connector for the transceiver end. The cable is prepped with 1/2 inch of each wire exposed, and 1/8 inch bare wire stripped and solder tinned for easy radio plug installation. Cable is almond color.
