Now you can operate the sound card modes without buying additional interfaces.  Simply change from your HF transceiver to the VHF/UHF transceiver by unplugging the HF cable and inserting a different transceiver cable. By using transformer isolation for the transmit and Receive audio paths, we prevent ground loop coupling, and reduce the chance of RF feedback into the PC sound card (squeals, hum, etc).  To further reduce RF feedback and RF ingress into the Tx or Rx sound card audio, we install a large (molded) ferrite core over the RASCAL to sound card audio I/O cable(s). The HF PSK frequencies are as follows: 160 meters - 1.807 80 meters - 3.580 40 meters - 7.070 30 meters - 10.140  Beginners, Start Here.  20 meters - 14.070                               15 meters - 21.070 10 meters - 28.120 Operation of PSK31 is typically in USB mode, thus the actual operating frequencies will range from the lower frequency, upward by three (3) kHz.  In theory, this means that you can plunk a hundred, 31 Hz,  PSK31 signals into the same spectrum as one SSB signal might occupy.

When operating PSK31, SSTV, RTTY, etc using your PC sound card;  READ close and understand these digital operating rules.  You should always set the RASCAL and SoundCard gain (transmit) controls of your transceiver at 50% or less than half its rated power output.   Most HF transceivers are NOT rated for 100% duty cycle in key-down modes.  PSK31, SSTV, & RTTY are KEY DOWN modes.   I've learned this lesson long ago... the hard way.   These settings may change a small amount as you move from one band to another. When operating PSK31, SSTV, or RTTY/FSK on the HF bands: Don't use the audio speech processor, turn it OFF. Don't drive your transceiver into ALC action.   Don't run your transceiver at full RF output power, adjust output power to 50% or less of its rated power output.
